G. Edward Moore, 90, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at Covenant Medical Center on Thursday, July 12, 2018, of natural causes.
He was born June 16, 1928, in rural Botna, Iowa, son of Clinton and Alice (McKeever) Moore and attended schools in and around Manning, Iowa.
Ed married Darlene Estelle Grill on May 10, 1953; she died January 16, 2009.
He was a diesel mechanic for International Trucks for many years retiring in 1992. Later, he worked for Twin City Safety as a safety consultant until 2015; he also drove part time for Met Transit.
Survivors include: a daughter: Lisa (Michael) Tegels, Urbandale, Iowa; granddaughter: Elin Tegels, New York City, New York; grandson: Joe Tegels, Urbandale, Iowa; a special friend: Ginger Elrod, Waterloo, Iowa; his sister: Dorothy Knudson, Manning, Iowa; and brother: Robert Moore, Carroll, Iowa.
Ed is preceded by his wife and infant daughter, Sharon Ann.
Ed was very involved with Chapter I of the Honda Gold Wing Road Riders Assoc. (GWRRA) and held several positions over the years. He and Darlene were honored to be chosen the 2005 Couple of the Year for Chapter I of the GWRRA. He loved to travel and spend time with family.
