Edna met and married Reinhardt Rudnick on May 29, 1945, leaving the farm life and moving to Council Bluffs, Iowa. Approximately 12 years later the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Edna was a payroll clerk for the Maricopa County Superior Court for over twenty years. Edna and Rein enjoyed square dancing and fishing together. In their retirement years, they also enjoyed travels in their motorhome. They were together almost 48 years of marriage prior to Rein's death on December 17, 1992.
Edna was a quilter and a member of the Glendale Sewing Club. Being an avid square dancer, Edna continued dancing after Rein's passing. It was at a square dance that she met Harry Sorich. In addition to square dancing, Edna and Harry enjoyed traveling and a host of other activities. They were companions for over 26 years until he passed in 2022.
She is survived by two children, Diane (Tom Mazzillo) Rudnick of Sun City and Ron (Mary Street) Rudnick of Phoenix; two granddaughters Debbie (Troy) Parker of Aztec, New Mexico; and Wendy (Steve) Hoskins of Peoria; two great-grandchildren, T.J. Parker of Aztec, New Mexico; and McKenna (Landon) McKnight of Farmington, New Mexico; and a great-great-granddaughter, Evelyn McKnight of Farmington, New Mexico. Edna was blessed with the five generations. Her family and friends were the delights of her life.
In addition to her parents, husband Rein and companion Harry, Edna's three siblings, Dolores Jensen, Herb Dammann, and Don Dammann preceded her in death.
She will be laid to rest with Rein in a private ceremony at Resthaven Park Cemetery, Phoenix, Arizona.
