MRS. HERBERT ROWEDDER
Mrs. Herbert (Edna M.) Rowedder, 69, of Manning, died Tuesday, February 2, at her home here.

She was a former school teacher, church office worker and an employee of the municipal gas office.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 5, at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Edward F. Heinicke officiating. Dorothy Kusel will be organist. Serving as pallbearers will be Royce Anthony, Marc Rowedder, Delton Gruhn, Robert Meeves, Duane Meggers, and Russell Frank.

Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery under the direction of the Ohde Funeral Home of Manning.

Mrs. Rowedder is survived by her husband Herbert, sons Daryle Rowedder and his wife Beverly, Manning; Gary Rowedder and his wife Pam, Mesa, Arizona; a daughter Mrs. Don (Myrene) Vaudt, Sioux City; seven grandchildren: Tim and Julie Rowedder; Shari, Sharia and Shelly Vaudt; Brian and Janelle Rowedder; a brother William F. Meggers, Westside, and a sister Mrs. William (Anna) Fries, Ida Grove.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Sophia (Nulle) Meggers, a sister Wilhelmina Gruhn, a brother Eddie Meggers and twin brothers in infancy.

Mrs. Rowedder was born August 15, 1912, in Iowa Township, Crawford County, a daughter of Emil and Sophia (Nulle) Meggers. She graduated from Manning High School in 1930 and taught first in Hayes Township No. 9 rural school. Later she taught in the Manning and Manilla schools. She also worked in the office of Zion Lutheran Church and before her retirement in 1977, was employed by the municipal gas office. She was married to Herbert Rowedder May 22, 1935.


Edna Rowedder is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
