Edna Margaret, daughter of Frank and Emma (Voege) Pfannkuch, was born April 26, 1919, on the family farm north of Vail in Crawford County, Iowa. She attended country school near her home and graduated from Wall Lake High School in 1936. Edna then stayed on the farm and cared for her family.

On December 5, 1944, Edna was united in marriage with John "Jack" Ramsey at Omaha, Nebraska. Edna and Jack made their home in the Manning area and Edna worked at J.M. McDonald Store, Groteluschen Grocery, L.R. Nelson Manufacturing, and as a housekeeper at the Manning Plaza. Edna retired in 1984 and Jack followed suit in 1985. Jack died October 10, 2005.

In May of 1999, Edna became a resident of the Manning Plaza in Manning, Iowa, and died there on Sunday, February 26, 2006. She was 86 years and 10 months and days of age.

Edna was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Manning and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She and Jack enjoyed Belles and Beaux square dancing together. Edna was an avid fisherman and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers: Frances Pfannkuch (in infancy), Ludwig Pfannkuch, Marvin Pfannkuch and Kenneth Pfannkuch and wife Lucille; a sister-in-law Lorene Pfannkuch and brother-in-law Clifford Olson.

She is survived by her four sons: Keith Pfannkuch and wife Marilyn of Manning; John L. "Jack" Ramsey Jr. and wife Lois of Manning; Charles Ramsey of Omaha, NE, and Lynn Ramsey and wife Kathleen of Granger; six grandchildren: Kent Pfannkuch and wife Sharon of Polk City; Kurt Pfannkuch of San Diego, CA; Todd Ramsey and wife Diane of England; Renee and husband Rick Willenborg of Manning; Heather Ramsey of Blue Springs, MO, and Eric Ramsey of Carroll; eight great-grandchildren; brothers Earl Pfannkuch of Manning and Donald Pfannkuch and wife Kay of Manning; sister Irene Olson of Manning; sisters-in-law Bernice Pfannkuch of Manilla and Viola Pfannkuch of Manning; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
