Eddie Meggers, 63, of Manning died at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll Friday, January 3, 1969. He had been in ill health for a year and a half.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Zion Lutheran Church, with burial in the Manning Cemetery. Pastor Edward F. Heinicke will officiate. Pallbearers will be Benny Otto, Thomas Sharp, John Ehrichs, Sr., Marvin Wiemann, Lester Meggers, and Marvin Kuhl. Arrangements are in charge of the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning.
Mr. Meggers was born in Crawford County on March 22, 1905, a son of Emil and Sophie (Nulle) Meggers. He attended rural and Manning schools and then farmed northwest of Manning. He was married August 27, 1931, to Irene Martens, who died June 28, 1960. In 1963, Mr. Meggers moved into Manning and was employed by the Wiemann Locker Plant.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Russell (Linda) Frank, Manning; three grandchildren; a brother, William F. Meggers of Westside; and two sisters, Mrs. William (Anna) Fries, Ida Grove, and Mrs. Herb (Edna) Rowedder, Manning.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one grandchild and a sister, Mrs. Harry K. Gruhn of Manning.
