Mr. and Mrs. Schrum came to Manning to visit two weeks ago and were visiting at Rock Rapids when she suffered a heart attack on October 18.
She was the former Dorothy Myrtle Dowell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church here, with burial in the Manning Cemetery. Pastor Edward F. Heinicke will officiate. Friends may call at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning starting at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Schrum was born June 23, 1909, at Ottumwa. When she was an infant, her parents died and she was reared by her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. George Dowell, at Washington, Iowa.
Following her graduation from Washington High School she attended Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls and Parsons College at Fairfield. She completed nurse's training in Chicago and worked as a nurse for eight years in Buffalo, New York.
She came here in 1948 to work at Manning General Hospital.
Her marriage to Mr. Schrum, who is her only survivor, took place October 10, 1949, and they moved to California in 1957.
