Pallbearers were Alfred Kuhl, William Kruse, Emil Kuhn, Barney Neubaum, Jacob Fielweber, and John Reetz.
Mrs. Sonksen, the daughter of Detlef and Christina (Fischer) Asmus, was born November 17, 1879, in Lincoln Township in Audubon County.
She came to Carroll County in 1938 and has lived in her home in Manning for the last eight years.
She married Jens Sonksen March 2, 1904, in the Lutheran Church in Lincoln Township.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church here.
Survivors include her husband, five children, Mrs. Christina Mohr, Manning; Bernard Sonksen and Julius Sonksen, Audubon; Herman Sonksen, Manning, and Mrs. Jessie Pfannkuch, Oakland, California, a sister, Mrs. Julius Ahrendsen, and two brothers, William and Henry Asmus, all living in Audubon County, and 13 grandchildren.
Her parents and a sister, Minnie, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Dorathea Anna Sonksen
Funeral services were held Thursday at the Zion Lutheran Church here for Mrs. Dorathea
Anna Sonksen, 67, who died Sunday at her home here.
Pastor John M. Ansorge conducted rites, with burial in Manning Cemetery.
A native of Audubon County, Mrs. Sonksen had lived in Manning
for eight years. She married Jens Sonksen on March 2, 1904. He survives with
three sons, Bernard and Julius Sonksen of Audubon, and Herman of Manning; two
daughters, Mrs. Christina Mohr of Manning and Mrs. Jessie Pfannkuch of Oakland,
California; a sister, Mrs. Julius Ahrendsen and two brothers, William and Henry
Asmus, all of Audubon County; and 13 grandchildren.
