Dolores Emily (De), daughter of Harry and Betty (Reimers) Ohm, was born August 12, 1914, in Chicago, Illinois. The family moved back to Manning, Iowa, where both sets of grandparents lived, when she was three years of age. De graduated from Manning High School and completed Normal Training to be certified to teach country school. She then worked as a bookkeeper for several local businesses as there were no teaching jobs available.

On September 8, 1932, De was united in marriage with Edward H. Ramsey at the Methodist Church in Fremont, Nebraska. De became a member of the Methodist Church at this time. Two boys, Leonard and Dennis, were born to De and Ed. The family farmed for a few years outside of Manning. From there they moved to Manilla where they resided for about eight years. In 1947 they moved back to Manning where De lovingly stayed at home to raise her children. De went back into the workforce as a bookkeeper for Brown-McDonald. She later served as the first bookkeeper for the Manning Plaza Nursing Home during its first eleven years of operation. De retired in 1977.

Through the years De and Ed enjoyed dancing and playing cards. Upon retirement they made several trips to Brownsville, Texas, to visit Ed's sister. De also enjoyed reading, walking and caring for grandchildren when she was able. Besides her membership in the United Methodist Church, De was a longtime member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary. In April of 1995 De joined Ed in the Manning Plaza Nursing Home. Ed died there in 1998. De died at the Plaza on March 25, 2012, after a short illness. She was 97 years, 7 months and 13 days of age.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ed Ramsey; grandson Jon E Ramsey; daughter-in-law Marlene Ramsey and brother Dick Ohm and wife Mary Jane.

Dolores is survived by her children Leonard Ramsey of Coon Rapids and Dennis Ramsey and wife Joan of Manning; 15 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; niece Shelli and husband Sonny Pratt and family of Sacramento, California; nephew Michael Ohm of Sacramento, California; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Orren Ramsey of Manning; Mary Ramsey of Manning and Mildred Ramsey of Carroll; other relatives and friends.
