Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ohde Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lester Moore, minister of the Manning Methodist Church, officiating. Ray Pratt will be vocal soloist, and Bonita (Mrs. H.W.) Hagedorn, organist. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.
Mr. Popp, son of Detlef Carl and Fredericka (Jentzen) Popp, was born November 28, 1891, at Manning. The family lived near Arcadia and later on a farm six miles north of Manning.
He was married to Laura Hinze in Arcadia November 27, 1913. They farmed in Washington and Ewoldt Townships until 1947 when they moved to Manning because of Mr. Popp's ill health.
Surviving are his wife, who is a sister of Leonard Hinze of Carroll; five children; Elvin Popp, Manning; Mrs. Russell Backous (Muriel), San Diego, California; Marvin and Russell Popp, Dow City; and Mrs. Don Wilson, Jr. (Phyllis) San Diego; 10 grandchildren; four brothers, William Popp, Carroll; Henry Popp, Manning; Erwin Popp, Walnut; and Louis Popp, Manning; and two sisters, Mrs. Bert Eich (Mamie), Manning; and Mrs. George Wiese (Wilma), Schaller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Otto and Elmer Popp, and two sisters, Mrs. Amos Epsen (Annie) and Mrs. Lou Bohnsack (Esther).
