Mr. Tisdale was born at Zearing December 21, 1876, to J.P. and Maria Tisdale and was a member of the first class, in 1895, to graduate from Zearing High School.
He taught in the Zearing and Gilman communities, was in the grocery business in Colorado and later was for many years salesman for a Des Moines wholesaler. He was married to Louise Heidenrich at Sigourney.
Three daughters survive: Helen Paige of Athens, Ohio; Rosa Tisdale of Washington, D.C.; and Minna Osborne of Napa, California. Also surviving are a brother, Ray Tisdale of Zearing, six grandchildren, and eight grandchildren.
Among the grandchildren are William Paige and Mrs. William Rudolph of Ames.
The Tisdale family lived in Manning, Iowa, for many years; a son, Fred Tisdale, graduated from Manning High School in 1927, and Minna Tisdale, graduated at Manning High School in 1929.
