In memory of David Taggart

David R. Taggart, age 63 of York, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at York. He was born February 10, 1950, in Carroll, to Billie Ray and Norma (Crees) Taggart. He graduated from Manning High School in 1969.
David was united in marriage to Judy Ann Wells in Carroll, on August 22, 1970. Dave worked in the agricultural field in Ft. Dodge for several years before moving to York to run the Sun Theater. While in York, he worked for Sunflower Beef packers, Scott Hourigan for over 20 years, Northern Pump and Irrigation for 15 years, and was then self-employed. Dave was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in York. He had previously belonged to the Eagles Club, the York Elk's Club, the Masonic Lodge, and the Shriners.

He is survived by his wife Judy of York; son Scott Taggart of Bradshaw, Nebraska, grandsons, Christian and Zachary Taggart of Bradshaw and Kadyn Taggart of Lincoln, Nebraska. Dave is also survived by his sister, Marilyn and husband Phil Schwery of Panama, Iowa, and father-in-law Francis "Bud" Wells of Carroll. Preceding him in death were his parents and son Robert.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in York. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery, York. A Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m., Monday at Metz Mortuary. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday. The family will greet friends Monday evening following the Rosary. Memorials may be directed to the family.
