Darlis Jean (nee Maasen) Vauble age 62 of Omaha, Nebraska died on Friday, September 11, 2020, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. She was born on December 12, 1957, to Don and Betty (Koch) Maasen at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, Iowa.
She was the youngest child, growing up with three brothers Dennis, Dave, and Douglas. Her parents moved from the Manning area in 1957, and she lived in Westside, Iowa, all her life and attended Ar-We-Va School in Westside. After graduating from school, she attended college in Omaha. On April 4, 1981, she married Tim Vauble at Zion Lutheran Church, in Arcadia, Iowa. To this two daughters were born, Kalee Jean and Lillian Anna.
The couple lived in Omaha and Darlis worked different jobs until she started at Creighton University and worked there for 27 years. She had Father Morrison president of Creighton as her boss. She then worked at Woodman of the World (Now Woodmen Life) until cancer entered her body in October of 2019.
She fought a battle but when the Lord said it is time to rest, she went to his loving embrace.
She held many positions for clubs and at church. She was president of EWI (Executive Women's International) which she traveled all over the country for meetings.
She was a loving person and always helped people out. She loved to camp and especially stay at her nephew's cabin in Colorado.
She will be missed by all, especially during family gatherings.
Darlis was preceded in death by her father, Donald Maasen. She is survived by her husband, Timothy; her daughters, Kalee Thompson (Ian) and Lillian Vauble; her mother, Betty Maasen; and three brothers, Denny (Sharon), Dave (Donna) and Doug (Starr).
