Daniel Loren Weller, age 53, lifelong resident of Manning, Iowa, passed away on January 16, 2021, at Manning Regional Health Care Center of complications from Parkinson's Disease. Dan was born on August 14, 1967, the son of Helen (nee Phillips) Weller and the late Loren Weller. He grew up on the family farm and was a proud 1986 graduate of Manning Community School.

Born with a learning disability and a very kind heart, Dan found great enjoyment tending to his animal menagerie, especially his flock of chickens and Bart (his favorite pig) as well as being the resident lawn mowing service - the farm never had better-looking lawns then after Dan got his own riding lawn mower. He was a big sports fan and spent hours honing his basketball shot with his nephews. He loved to visit the local bowling alley for a game or two and keep track of the Los Angeles Lakers and Dodgers and all sports played by the Iowa Hawkeyes. Dan reveled in the ongoing battle with his family's Iowa State Cyclone loyalists but was always ready to introduce others to his new animals or favorite video games.

Dan was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease at an early age but fought hard to not let it get in the way of his favorite pastimes. By 2015, Dan had a major advancement of the disease and moved into the Manning Plaza (now Accura Healthcare) with his mother. There, Dan was an eager participant in many of the social activities and could often be found in the lobby showing off his video game skills. After years on the farm, Dan found a liking for being a small-town resident and enjoyed the close proximity to the bowling alley, library, shops and parks. He was always ready for a ride about town and beyond, including making sure all was well at the farm.

Dan was preceded in death by his father Loren Weller and brother-in- law Bill Saunders. He is survived by his mother, Helen Weller of Manning; brother David Weller (Julie) of Manning; five sisters: Elaine Saunders of Ankeny; Pat Joens (Skip) of Des Moines; Bonnie Gill (Bill) of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; Valerie Saltsgaver (Doug) of Des Moines; and Sharon Cable (Matt) of Woodward. Nieces and nephews Justin, Jordan, Dereck, Jon, Luke, Amy, Anna, Madeline and Cam have sweet memories of their loving Uncle Dan; other relatives and friends.

**Memorial contributions in Dan's memory should be sent to the Manning Library at 310 Main Street, Manning, IA 51455 or given directly to the family to donate on his behalf**
