Dale Williams
Memorial Mass for Dale Williams, age 46, of Gillette, Wyoming was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2005 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with Reverend Cliff Jacobson officiating. Visitation was at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, September 9, 2005 with a vigil/prayer service following. A prayer service was held Monday, September 12, 2005 at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning, Iowa. Services in Manning were held on Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church with Reverend Andrew Hoffman officiating. Rite of Committal was held in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Mr. Williams died Monday, September 5, 2005 unexpectedly in his home.
Dale Louis Williams was born on August 4, 1959 the son of Leo and Esther (Anstoeter) Williams in Storm Lake, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Manning, Iowa were he graduated from Manning High School in 1977. Upon his graduation, Dale went on to attend Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg, Iowa. After earning his Associates Degree, he moved to Sheridan, Wyoming and began working as a carpenter. In 1980 Dale made his home in Gillette where he began working for different oil-field service companies until he became employed with Devon Energy and worked for them for the past seven years. He was working as Lease Operator Technician for them at the time of his death.
Dale was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed riding snowmobile, four-wheeling, camping and spending time at his cabin in the mountains, boating and water-skiing. Dale enjoyed many trips all throughout the country and different parts of the world with his sister and brother-in-law.
He is survived by his mother, Esther Williams of Manning, Iowa; two brothers: Dan Williams of Gillette, and Gary Williams of Onaway, Michigan; two sisters: Maureen and husband, Ron Halbur of Manning, Iowa and Carol Ann and husband, Rick Jahn of Gillette; one niece, Amy Halbur - Croghan and husband, Jason of Kansas City, Missouri.
Dale was preceded in death by his father, Leo Williams, in 1976 and one brother who died in infancy.
