Funeral Services For Cornelius Schroeder

SCHLESWIG

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Gottburg Funeral Home and at the Immanuel Lutheran church for Cornelius Schroeder. Rev. Elmer Strelow was in charge of the service.

Burial was made in the Morgan Cemetery. The pallbearers were Frank Peters, Alvin Stockleth, Julius Bumann, William F. Schmidt, P.J. Jepsen and William Groth.

Cornelius Ingwert Schroeder, the third son of Cornelius Schroeder and his wife Dora, nee Lafrentz, was born on the Schroeder farm in Goodrich Township on March 27, 1915. He spent the greater part of his life on the farm where he was born.

On December 5, 1937, he was united in marriage to Elsie Hansen. For two years he farmed with his parents until 1939, when he moved with his wife and daughter to the Theodore Lohse farm north of Schleswig, which he has farmed ever since. This marriage was blessed with two children.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran church in Denison, and was a member of this church until 1941 when he transferred his membership to the Immanuel Lutheran church at Schleswig.

He was 31 years, seven months, and 16 days old at the time of his death, being preceded in death by his father, Cornelius, in December 1941 and one brother in infancy. He leaves to mourn his sudden death, his widow, Elsie, one daughter, Mary Ellen, and one son, Tommy, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Schroeder, one brother, J. Henry, one sister, Luella, and his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charley F. Hansen and numerous relatives and friends.
