Connie K. Stammer

Connie K. Stammer, 68, of Storm Lake and formerly of Carroll passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at her home in Storm Lake.

Funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 25, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll with Pastor Brian Licht officiating. Organist for the service will be Jan Hoff. Casket bearers will be Zachary Dicks, Jacob Dicks, Michaela Mohr, Doug Rowedder, Daryl Wiese, and Brody Reiling.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Friday at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll, where there will be a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com.

Born February 21, 1947, in Ida Grove, she was a daughter of Walter and Lydia (Zobel) Mildenstein. Connie grew up in Ida Grove and attended Ida Grove High School. She married Lowell Stammer on June 8, 1963, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove. They lived in Carroll, where Connie owned and operated a dog-grooming business called Connie's K-9 Clippers. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church while living in Carroll and served on the finance committee, and she was currently a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Storm Lake.

Connie enjoyed playing Scrabble, doing volunteer work at New Hope Village, and preparing wonderful holiday meals for her family. Connie dearly loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was also very fond of her schnauzer, Einstein.

Connie is survived by three daughters: Ann (Schlinz) Lorenzen of Stuart, Lori (Schlinz) Dicks and her husband, Jason, of Storm Lake, and Carrie (Schlinz) Reiling and her husband, Jess, of Dallas Center; a stepson, Marty, of California; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; her mother-in-law, Ella Stammer, of Carroll; two brothers: Dennis Mildenstein and his wife, Ann, of Medford, Massachusetts, and Donald Mildenstein and his wife, Sharyl, of Lake View; a sister-in-law, Lola Rowedder, and her husband, Doug, of Denison; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Mildenstein; a sister, Janet Backhaus; her husband, Lowell, in 2013; and a great-grandson, Parker.
