CLIFFORD SPACK

Clifford G. "Pat" Spack was born Jan. 6, 1915, near Manilla, Ia., the son of Micheal and Emily (Dieber) Spack. He died Jan. 26, 1990, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Ia., at the age of 75 years.
Clifford grew up on a farm near Buck Grove, Ia., and attended rural schools.

Jan. 6, 1946, Clifford and Shirley Meyer of Aspinwall, were united in marriage at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison by Rev. Carl Schmidt. This union was blessed with two children. In 1948, they moved to Aspinwall where they owned and operated Pat's Place, but continued to farm for several years. Clifford suffered a stroke in 1987 and entered Manning Plaza in 1988.

He served his country during World War II, and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 132 of Manilla, and also a member of the VFW Post No. 3517 of Manning. He enjoyed all sports which included fishing.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and two brothers, Elmer and Victor.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley; two children, Carol and her husband, Dallas Lile of Manilla, and Rick Spack and his wife, Kim of Aspinwall; five grandchildren: Michell, Tony and Trudy Lile, Heather and Jalen Spack; two great grandchildren, Cody and Luke Lile; one sister, Esther and her husband, Edwin Jochimsen of Charter Oak; and two sisters-in-law, LaVerne Spack of Denison and Arlene Spack of Manning.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 29, 1990, at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Rev. Robert Riggert officiated at the services with interment in Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. Mrs. Fern Jensen was organist. Musical selections were, "What A Friend We Have in Jesus" and "How Great Thou Art."

Serving as pallbearers were Ronald Jochimsen, Abe Gronau, Mark Spack, Charles Meyer, Benjamin Meyer and Clark Meyer.
American Legion Post No. 132 of Manilla and the VFW Post No. 3517 of Manning conducted military rites at the cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of Walter A. Hubner & sons Denison, Iowa.
