Clifford (Cliff) Arthur Olson, age 91, of Carnarvon, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2003, at the Manning Regional Healthcare Center, Manning, Iowa.
Cliff was born on January 26, 1912, in Sac County, the son of Alvin and Minnie (Barthman) Olson. He was baptized at Wheatland Presbyterian Church on July 19, 1942, and was a member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, Carnarvon. He attended school through the 8th grade in Carnarvon.
On December 20, 1938, Cliff was united in marriage to Irene A. Pfannkuch, at the Wheatland Presbyterian Church. After their marriage the couple farmed in the Boyer area in Crawford County and Wall Lake, Carnarvon area in Sac County. When he retired from farming, they moved to their home in Carnarvon. But Cliff never really ever quit farming; he still helped area farmers until his health would not let him the last few years.
Cliff loved his children and the land. He was especially proud of his grandchildren, and his three great granddaughters were a special joy to him.
He is survived by his wife Irene; his three children: Karen Casey and her husband Dennis of Rockwell City, Iowa, Earlene Frisbie of Wall Lake, Iowa, and Clifford Olson, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Moville, Iowa; five granddaughters: Trisha, Shonda, Shelly, Tanya and Amanda; four grandsons: Tony, Jeff, Chris, and Adam; and three great-granddaughters: Jordan, Mackenzie, and Chloe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Elmer Olson; and sister-in-law Louise Olson.
