Clarence E. Zinke, the son of Harry and Emma Sable Zinke died at the St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa at the age of 81 years, 3 months, and 29 days.

He was baptized as a baby and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln Township. He attended rural schools in Douglas Township, Audubon County, Iowa, then helped operate the family farm.

On May 1, 1937, he was united in marriage to Lela Oakley in Maryville, Missouri. They farmed for two years in Douglas Township, then moved to Lincoln Township where they purchased their farm. He farmed and also operated a dairy herd with his son, Steve. They moved into Gray in 1981. Clarence continued farming until he retired in 1987, then enjoyed his gardening and growing flowers. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln Township, Audubon County. He was a member of the Mid-America Dairy Association and was a 4-H leader for many years.

Preceding him in death was his son, Lyle Zinke; his grandson, Scott Dean Zinke; his step-grandson, Ricky Ryan; his parents; his brothers: Walter Zinke and Roy Zinke.

Survivors include his wife, Lela Zinke of Gray, Iowa; his sons and their wives: Larry and Diane Zinke of LeSueur, Minnesota; Steve and Becky Zinke of Corning, Iowa; his daughter-in-law, Darlene Zinke of Ninnekah, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren: Krystal Kilgore of Denver, Colorado; Danielle Zinke of LeSueur, Minnesota; Devynn Petersen of Hinton, Iowa; his step-grandsons, Marlin Keys of Norman, Oklahoma; and Randy Ryan of Ninnekah, Oklahoma; 5 step-great-grandchildren; Chastity Ryan; Gerard Ryan; Heather Ryan; Joyce Ryan, all of Ninnekah, Oklahoma; James Keys of Norman, Oklahoma; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family of Mr. Zinke appreciate the many expressions of sympathy and concern. Everyone is invited to meet with the family in the church fellowship room following the committal service.
