Clarence A. Sailer
Clarence Sailer died Sunday, October 17, 2004, at his residence in Carroll at the age of 67. Clarence was born on April 24, 1937, at Carroll, Iowa, the son of Frank and Anna (Wanninger) Sailer. He spent most of his lifetime in Carroll and attended Saints Peter and Paul School. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard from November 1959 until his discharge in November 1965. Clarence made his home in Carroll and from 1958 until the 1970s he was employed by the Witt Flooring Company of Davenport, Iowa. In the 1970s he began farming full time on his farms east of Audubon until ill health forced his retirement. He enjoyed farming and socializing with his family and friends.

Clarence is survived by his brothers, Paul (Agatha) Sailer, Leonard (Mary) Sailer, and Richard Sailer; sisters, Loretta Bernholtz and Lillian (Neil) Stork; nieces and nephews; and aunts, Sophia Sailer and Teresa Wanninger. He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew Kreg Sailer; and brother-in-law, Merle Bernholtz.
