Clara Philomena Lechtenberg Sextro

Funeral services were held at 9:30 this morning at Sacred Heart Church for Mrs. John Sextro, 56, who died at her home in Manning Saturday morning, August 30, 1947, after an illness of one and one-half years. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

With the exception of 11 years at Butte, Nebraska, Mrs. Sextro had spent her life in this community.

She was born Clara Lechtenberg, daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Lechtenberg, July 2, 1891, at Templeton. Her marriage to Mr. Sextro took place January 30, 1917, at Templeton. Eleven children were born to them: Mrs. Joe Lampe, Jr. (Helen), Leo, Edward, Herbert, Marie, Leonard, Dorothy, Norbert, Ruth, and Maxine. A daughter, Edna, died in 1936 at the age of 16.

Also surviving are six brothers and one sister: Joe Lechtenberg, Carroll; Henry and Ben, Templeton; Frank, Butte, Nebraska; Will, Sioux City; Ed, Manning; and Sister M. Bernarda, Knowles, Wisconsin. Another sister, Sister M. Phlecianna preceded her in death.
