Funeral services for Christopher Petersen, 79, of Manning will be held in the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, at 2 p.m. Monday with burial in the Manning Cemetery. Pastor George B. Eschenbacher of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate.

Mr. Petersen died at the home of his son William Petersen in Manning early Friday morning, September 18, 1959, after a long illness.

He was born in Denmark January 17, 1880, coming to the United States at the age of 11 to join his father who had come here previously. He lived on a farm near Fiscus and attended Audubon County Schools.

He farmed until 1915 when he came to Manning where he was employed as an engineer at the Manning Creamery Company until 1950.

On May 7, 1907, he was married at Audubon to Marie Dora Hagedorn who passed away on September 27, 1926.

Also preceding him in death were his parents and a half-brother.

Surviving are his son, William, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter Kay of Manning, and the following half-brothers and half-sisters: Mrs. Dave Anderson (Millie), Red Deer, Alberta, Canada; Casner, Washburn, North Dakota; Emery, Underwood, North Dakota; Elmer, Sidney, Montana; Mrs. Alvina Melby, Milltown, Wisconsin; and Mrs. John Anderson (Stella), Whittier, California.
