Mrs. Christine Reimer, 85, died at her home on Fourth Street, Manning, Wednesday afternoon, November 20, 1940, her death being attributed to complications attendant to her advanced age. Although she had not been well for some time, she had been confined to bed only since last Friday.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ohde Funeral Home, with the Rev. Alexander Wimberly officiating. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.
Born Christine Luetje at Schact, Germany, September 24, 1855, Mrs. Reimer came to the United States in 1873 and located at Davenport, where she was married October 15, 1878, to August Reimer.
Coming to Carroll County in 1888, Mrs. Reimer had lived in Manning more than fifty years. Her husband died August 24, 1935.
She leaves two daughters: Mrs. John Frahm (Minnie), and Mrs. Herman Vogt (Laura), both of Manning; one son, John Reimer, of Spokane, Washington; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Hoffmann, Manning; Mrs. Anna Johansen, Elkton, South Dakota; and Mrs. Mary Petersen, Davenport; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Reimer was baptized in the Lutheran faith.
