Christina Maria Schulz was born in Reinsbuettel, Holstein, Germany, on May 23, 1842. December 4th, 1864 she was married to Mr. Reimer Witt. In the spring of 1883 they came to Arcadia where they lived on a farm until 1905 when they moved to Arcadia and lived until her death. She died on October 3rd, 1921, and was buried on October 6th, 1921. She leaves to mourn her death, her aged husband, four sons, William of Manning, John of Arcadia, Gustav of Bonesteel, South Dakota, and August of Arcadia, and five daughters, Mrs. Louie D. Bruggemann of Laurel, Nebraska; Mrs. William Kracht of West Side, Mrs. Emil Wiese of Manning, and Mrs. Jacob Lage of Manning, also five sisters, Mrs. Anna Schroeder of Manning, Mrs. Minnie Brockmann of Arcadia, Mrs. August Detlefs of Minnesota and Mrs. Louise Kock of Texas and Mrs. Katherine Rickers of Chicago. There are also 49 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Obituary Mrs. Reimer Witt
Christiana Marie Shultz was born in Reinsbuettel, Holstein, Germany, May 23, 1842.

December 4, 1864, she was married to Reimer Witt, to which union nine children were born.

They left Germany May 20 and came to Arcadia, and settled on a farm south of here June 9, 1883, where they lived until the year 1905 when they retired and moved to Arcadia.

She died at her home here Monday afternoon, October 3, after several weeks' illness.

The funeral was held in the Presbyterian Church, Rev. Mr. Walters officiating.

Mrs. Witt, during her residence in our city, formed many warm friendships. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and was loved by all who knew her.

Mrs. Witt leaves to mourn her loss her husband, four sons and five daughters. They are William Witt, of Manning; John Witt, of Arcadia; Mrs. Louie Bruggeman, of Laurel, Nebraska; Gust Witt, of Bonesteel, South Dakota; Mrs. Will Kracht, of West Side; Mrs. Lage, of Riceville, Iowa; August Witt, of Arcadia; Mrs. Emil Wiese, of Manning, and Mrs. J. Lage, of Manning. Also 49 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and five sisters survive.
