A 74 year old Manning man was killed Thursday when he was run over by a tractor. Dead is Charles F. Schumann, a retired farmer.
The tractor was driven by Fred Timmerman, who told authorities that Mr. Schumann was riding on the front of the tractor when he suddenly fell off. Timmerman said he couldn't stop the tractor from passing over Schumann's body.
The accident occurred in front of the Milwaukee Railroad Station here about 10:30 a.m.
Surviving are his widow; three sons, Eugene Schumann, Westside, Howard Schumann, Ames, and Charles Schumann, Jr., Buffalo Center, and two daughters, Mrs. Hugo Vollstedt, Manning, and Mrs. William Adams, Vail.
The Ohde Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
