Funeral services for Charley Miller, 93, were held at the home of his son, Earl Miller, at 2:30 Monday afternoon. The Ohde Funeral home was in charge.
The Rev. Brown Garlock, of the Manning Methodist Church, officiated. Clifford M. Johnson, accompanied by Bonita (Mrs. Henry W.) Hagedorn, sang "Going Down the Valley" and "Abide With Me."
BURIAL was at the Elba Cemetery, near Templeton, with the following grandsons acting as pallbearers: Ora Carr, John Carmichael, Charles, Clarence Harold, and Burl Miller.
Mr. Miller, son of John N. and Eliza Miller, was born in Peoria County, Illinois, October 18, 1954. He died at the Try on Nursing Home in Carroll, May 21, 1948.
Mr. Miller moved with his family to Guthrie County, Iowa, in 1873. In the spring of 1874, he located on the Carroll County farm where he had resided the past 69 years.
He was married to Josephine Roberts August 2, 1879. His wife passed away March 5, 1930.
Three sons were born to them, one of whom, Ross, preceded Mr. Miller in death.
He was the third oldest of a family of 10.
SURVIVORS include two sons, Clement of Fremont, Nebraska, and Earl of Templeton; three granddaughters, Barbara of Fort Dix, New Jersey; Jacqueline of Richmond, Virginia; and Susanna of Fremont; two sisters, Mrs. Etta Carmichael and Mrs. Lucy Carr, of Elgin, Nebraska.
Mr. Miller had been in ill health the past three years.
