CHARLES J. STUHR
Charles J. Stuhr, 90, of Manning died about 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 1958, in the Manning General Hospital. He had been ill four weeks.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, but the place has not been set. Pastor George B. Eschenbacher, Zion Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.

The body is resting at the Ohde Funeral Home here.

Mr. Stuhr was born March 19, 1868, at Schleswig, Holstein, Germany. Coming to the United States in 1880, he lived in Philadelphia for three years, moving from there to Lost Nation, Iowa.

He was married to Emma Bock in 1889. A year later, Mr. and Mrs. Stuhr came to Carroll, County. Mrs. Stuhr died in 1926. Three years later, Mr. Stuhr moved to Glidden, where he lived until 10 years ago. Since that time, he had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Albert A. Jensen, in Manning.

Surviving are seven children: Herman Stuhr, Scranton; Arthur Stuhr, Bayard; Charles Stuhr Arcadia; Mrs. Albert (Marie) Jensen, Manning; Mrs. Lyle (Evelyn) Day, Glidden; Mrs. Ralph (Edna) Klinkefus, Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Mrs. W.W. (Emma) Frey, Los Angeles, California; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Mason and Mrs. J. Krause, Carroll.

He was preceded in death by four children, Ella, Ida, Alfred, and Louis; five sisters and five brothers.
