MRS. KARL ROHR
Funeral services for Mrs. Karl (Cecile) Rohr were held Monday, November 26. 1979, at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning with Pastor Edward F. Heinicke officiating. Interment was in Manning cemetery with Leland Kienast, Claus Bunz, Russ Mohr, Roland Derner, Dennis Backhaus and Dale Vollstedt as casketbearers. The Ohde Funeral Home in Manning was in charge of arrangements.
Cecile Elizabeth, daughter of Ed and Addie Stephens, was born in Irwin, Iowa, November 14, 1897 and departed this life at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll on November 23, 1979, at the age of 82 years and 10 days.
She grew to womanhood in Irwin attending the Irwin Public Schools and later trained at Iowa State Teachers College. She taught school in the rural schools near Irwin and also in the Irwin Public School.
She was united in marriage with Karl B. Rohr on January 21, 1920. Three children were born to this union, all of whom died in infancy. They farmed in the
Manning area before retiring in 1947 to make their home in Manning.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Karl, a sister, Mrs. Inez Brennen of Irwin, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was a loving wife and a good Christian woman.
