Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be
no moaning of the Bar
when I put out to sea,
For tho' from out our bourne
Of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot----
face to face,
When I have crost the bar

Last Rites For Mrs. H.P. Mundt Held Tuesday
The death of Mrs. Herman P. Mundt, a resident of Carroll County for more than 50 years, occurred at her home on Third Street on Saturday, November 18, 1939, at the age of 75 years, 9 months, and 14 days. Advanced age and other complications had forced her to walk with the aid of a cane for some years, and for the last three years she had been under the care of her physician, being confined to her bed since last January. During this period she was a patient in the Wyatt Memorial Hospital and everything in the power of medical skill and human hands was applied to restore her health, but to no avail. Mrs. Mundt, in her younger days, was a hard worker and a true helpmate to her husband. In the neighborhood in which she lived she enjoyed the respect and esteem of her many neighbors and friends for her cheerful disposition and noble character. Of robust health, she never shirked in lending a helping hand, day or night, wherever needed. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a kind neighbor.
Mrs. Mundt, Catherine Ronnfeldt, was born in Clinton county, Iowa on February 4, 1864, on the farm. She spent her childhood days in Clinton County attended school, was reared and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, to which she truly adhered to the very last.
At the age of 19 years, in 1883, she came to Carroll county and in the same year, on November 16, she was married to Mr. H.P. Mundt, to which union one daughter, Melinda, was born. Melinda, Mrs. Emil Martens, their only child, passed away very suddenly on July 18, 1926, which was heartbreaking to the grief-stricken parents.
Mr. Mundt, who survives his wife, is in poor health at present, and bedfast, caused by a stroke about three weeks ago, and has the deepest sympathy of his many neighbors and friends in his hour of bereavement. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Irene Martens (Mrs. Eddie Meggers); Earl Martens; Vertus Martens; Dorothy Martens (Mrs. Karl Schrum) and one great-grandchild. She also leaves two sisters, Bertha, Mrs. Peter Schroeder of Manning; Dora, Mrs. Martin Hansen of Austin, Minn.; and one brother, Louie Ronnfeldt of Clinton, Iowa.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon with a short service at the home in the presence of the invalid husband, with services following at the Zion Lutheran Church at 2 o'clock, the Rev. J.M. Ansorge, Pastor of the Church, officiating. Interment was in the Hayes Township Cemetery.
Pall bearers were four grandsons: Earl Martens, Vertus Martens, Eddie Meggers, and Karl Schrum; and two nephews, Elmer Schroeder and Fred P. Hansen.
Many friends and relatives were present to pay their last respects at the services.
The name of Clarence Martens, grandson of Mrs. H.P. Mundt was omitted from the obituary in last week's issue. His name should have appeared in the list of grandchildren.
