Passed Away at Clarinda, Iowa, Sunday Morning, March 16th, 1924

After an illness of only a short duration at the state hospital at, Clarinda, Iowa, on Sunday, March 16, 1924, occurred the death of Mrs. Catherine Mundt at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 27 days. An attack of measles which later developed into pneumonia was the cause of her death after an illness of three days.

Catherine Mundt nee Arp was born in Prostorff, Germany, May 18, 1846. Here she received her education and grew to womanhood.

In the year 1869 she came to the United States and here was joined in wedlock with Mr. Joachim Mundt settling on a farm in Washington twp., Carroll county, which has since been the family home. In the early days she patiently endured the many hardships of pioneer life. in 1888 the deceased was taken to the hospital at Clarinda where she was confined until her death.

The deceased leaves to mourn her death her husband, Joachim Mundt, one son and daughter-in law, Mr. and Mrs. James Mundt, and one grandchild, Bernice Mundt.
We join with the many friends of the bereaved ones extending sympathy to them in their great irretrievable loss.

The body was shipped here Tuesday and after funeral services at St. John's Ev. church in this city, burial was made in the Hayes twp. cemetery. Rev. H. W. Schirnecker officiated.
