Mrs. Catherine (Mohr) Steen, 88, died last night, April 4, 1949, at her home, 404 Fifth Street, Manning. She had been seriously ill the past few days.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ohde
Funeral Home and burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.
The Rev. Harlan Kruse, minister of the Presbyterian Church, will officiate.
Mrs. Steen, born March 28, 1861, in Germany, came to the
United States when she was 21 years old.
Her marriage to Fred (Fritz) Steen took place at Lost Nation, Iowa, in 1882.

After retiring from farming, Mr. and Mrs. Steen located in Manning in 1904.
Mr. Steen died November 1, 1931. Mrs. Steen was also preceded in death by five children: Three in infancy, Mrs. Fred Schmidt (Bertha) in 1916, and Mrs. Hans Pfoltner (Rose) in 1929.
Surviving are five children, 19 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. The children are Mrs. John Sonksen (Minnie) and Joe Steen, Manning; William, Lake City; Mrs. Robert Dittman (Ella), Ft. Dodge, and Mrs. William Peterson (Elsie) Waterloo.
