Mrs. Caroline Stumpe was born in Germany September 11, 1868, and died at her home in Manning August 5, 1927, at the age of 58 years, 10 months, and 24 days, with burial in the Manning Cemetery.

In the year 1891, she was married to Reinhard Stumpe, coming to Manning where they have lived ever since. Two children were born to this union, Fred Stumpe and Mrs. Minnie Reinke. She is survived by her husband, Reinhard Stumpe, and the son and daughter and two grandchildren, all of Manning, and three brothers and one sister in Germany.

Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church Monday, Rev. John Ansorge officiating.
