Carl Schleeter OBITUARY

Carl Louie Schleeter was born December 2, 1878, at Anchor, McLean County, Illinois. There he was baptized and confirmed. After the first month of his life he lost his mother and in his fifth year his father. In 1897 he came to Iowa in order to work.

On July 14, 1902, the deceased was married at Carroll, Iowa, to Miss Florence Boyer. They moved to Marion, Iowa, and lived there five years and since then at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Their married life was blessed with one boy, Carl.

Mr. Schleeter was ailing for several years. As he could not find relief in Cedar Rapids, he entered a hospital in Chicago September 1st of this year. It was found that his trouble was cancer of the stomach.

November 25th, his suffering ended and he was called to his reward at the age of 34 years, 11 months and 23 days.

He leaves his beloved wife and son, Carl, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Thompsen, of Aspinwall, and Helen Hansen, of Rockham, South Dakota, one brother, John Schleeter, of Manning, besides his step-mother, 78 years old, and a step-brother, Otto Schleeter.

The funeral took place Thursday, November 27, at Manning, Rev. H. Wendt, of Manilla, officiating.

Mr. John Schleeter went to Chicago Monday night and accompanied the body home. He arrived at Chicago 2 hours too late to see him alive.


Carl Schleeter is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
