CARL PETERSEN
Funeral services for Carl Petersen, 68, retired Westside farmer, were held Monday, September 12 at 2 p.m. at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Westside. The Rev. E.J. Otte officiated. Burial was at Westside.

Mr. Petersen was born February 15, 1887, in Iowa Township, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob and Catharina (Carlsen) Petersen. He married Clara Schroeder of Westside February 8, 1911. He farmed all his life, and moved to Westside seven years ago, after retiring from the farm.

He died unexpectedly Friday afternoon, September 9, 1955, while helping a neighbor fill his silo, Mr. Petersen sat down under a tree to rest, and was found dead a short time later. He had not been ill.

Mr. Petersen is survived by his wife, two sons, Elmer at home and Leonard of Westside; two granddaughters. Cindy and Christy Petersen, and five sisters: Mrs. Lena Grimm, Mrs. Walt Grage (Melinda), and Mrs. William Misselhorn (Marie), Manning; Mrs. Herman Nissen (Lily), Carroll; and Mrs. George Petersen (Alma) Hardwick, Minnesota.
