Carl Otto, 70, Dies at Manning

Carl Reinhold Otto, 70, a former Crawford County farmer and resident of Manning for the past two years, died at his home in Manning, Friday, January 30, 1953, at 11 a.m.

Mr. Otto suffered a stroke shortly after moving to Manning and had been bedfast during most of his residence here.

Funeral Monday
Funeral services will be at Zion Lutheran Church, Manning, Monday, at 2 p.m., with Pastor John M. Ansorge officiating. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Schilling, Hinrich E. Kuhl, Ed Meggers, Carsten H. Jahn, Alfred Ehrichs, and Louie Stammer.

Mr. Otto was born in Iowa Township, Crawford County, September 5, 1882, the son of Henry William and Caroline (Clausen) Otto. He attended county schools and on January 22, 1913, was married to Tena Hass.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto lived for the first three years in Aspinwall after which they farmed in Iowa Township until they moved to Manning about two years ago. Mr. Otto had also worked at times as a carpenter.

Survivors
He is survived by his wife, five sons, two daughters and eight grandchildren all of whom live in the Manning community. His sons and daughters are Henry, William, Louie, Bennie, and Elmer Otto, Hilda Otto who lives at home, and Mrs. Walter (Malinda) Bammermann.
