Beulah Marie, daughter of Elbert and Hilda (Barrier) Orme, was born May 21, 1919, at Neola, Iowa. She was one of four children and grew up on an acreage near the edge of town. Beulah graduated from Neola High School and worked as a telephone operator there until her marriage.

Beulah met her husband, Herbert G. Witt, through mutual friends. On February 3, 1945, they were united in marriage at her hometown Neola, Iowa. This union was blessed with three children. The family made their home in the Manning area on various farms until they purchased the home farm west of Manning in about 1965. Beulah was a homemaker and later worked at the Manning Plaza Nursing Home in the dietary department. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning. Beulah enjoyed knitting, gardening, playing the piano, word puzzles, watching basketball and baseball, bird watching, traveling and enjoying the outdoors.

When her husband Herb died in 2000, Beulah remained on the home farm. In 2007 Beulah moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, to live with her daughter and family. She became a resident of Tabitha Healthcare Center in Lincoln when her health began to fail. Beulah died there on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at the age of 92 years, 10 months, and 10 days. She was a caring wife, mother and grandmother. Beulah will be loved and missed by family and friends.

Beulah is preceded in death by her parents; husband Herbert Witt; son Dennis Witt in 1964; sister Darlene Steenbock (Don); sister Sally Dirks; and brother Ruel Orme.
