Mrs. Bertha Helene Popp, 83, of 1623 Quint Avenue, died after a short illness at 9:50 p.m. Friday, May 28, 1971, at St. Anthony Hospital, where she was taken earlier that day.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Dahn-Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll, with burial in the Arcadia Cemetery, Arcadia. The Rev. Timothy Koenig, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Mrs. Popp was born at Arcadia December 24, 1887, a daughter of Frederick and Margruetta (Linde) Schluter. On February 4, 1913, she was married to William F. Popp, and they farmed in the Arcadia area for 40 years before retiring and moving to Carroll in 1953.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Leslie (Helen) Sieve, Manning; Mrs. Elmer (Evelyn) Schroeder, and Mrs. Edward (Arlene) Holstein, Carroll; three sons, Vernon of Boone, Lester of Arcadia, and Leonard of Denison; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and three brothers, John Schluter of Mountain Lake, Minnesota; Fred Schluter of Lakefield, Minnesota, and Henry Schluter of Spencer.

Mrs. Popp was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and two sisters.
