Memorial services for Bernice Travis of Ventura, California, were held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 29; 1989 at Grace Lutheran Church in Ventura, California. Benedict Yaspelkis officiated the service. Private interment followed.
Bernice F. Travis, daughter of Frank and Agnes Soll Meggers, was born November 4, 1917 in Manning, Iowa. She had lived in Ventura, California for the past five years, moving there from Fullerton, California. She was retired, having been office manager for the National Handicraft Co. for 15 years.
Bernice died Sunday, June 25, 1989, at home after a long illness, at the age of 71 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Milo; and a brother-in-law, Ray Bowden.
Bernice is survived by her husband, Donald; two sons: Brian, of Santa Ynez, California, and Terry of Denver, Colorado; one daughter, Ann Barnett of Des Moines, Iowa; by three sisters: Irene Genzen of Manning, Iowa, Eldora Ketelsen of Charter. Oak, Iowa, and Norma Bowden of San Antonio, Texas; by one brother, Donald Meggers of Lincoln, Nebraska; and by four grandchildren.
Bernice was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Ventura.
