BARBARA SONKSEN RUNDELL

Barbara (Sonksen) Rundell, 49, of Omaha, Nebraska, and formerly of Manning, died Monday, July 19, 1993, at Douglas County Hospital in Omaha following a long illness.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rundell will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 1993, at Calvary Baptist Church in Manning.

Pastor Hank Jensen of Calvary Baptist Church will deliver the scripture reading and prayer and Pastor Ronald Todd of Midlands Baptist Temple in Omaha, Nebraska, will deliver the message.

Burial will be at Manning City Cemetery with Associate Pastor Brian Harris of Calvary Baptist Church offering graveside ministry.

Casket bearers will be Keith Schroeder, Robert Haack, Paul Wooster, Bud Stahl, Charles Wooster, and Phil Stracke.

Ohde Funeral Home in Manning is handling the arrangements.

Mrs. Rundell was born June 12, 1944, at Wyatt Memorial Hospital in Manning, a daughter of Joe and Edna (Karsten) Sonksen. She attended Manning schools, graduating from Manning High School in 1962.

That same year, she moved with her parents to Sioux City. On April 9, 1967, she was married to Gale Rundell in Sioux City. Their adopted son, David, was born June 8, 1971.

The Rundells lived in Sioux City where Mrs. Rundell worked for Zenith Corp. In 1975, they moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where they were members of the Midlands Baptist Temple.

In her spare time, Mrs. Rundell enjoyed doing embroidery.

Mrs. Rundell had been in ill health for a number of years and entered Manning General Hospital May 15, 1990. The following day, she was transferred to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha where she had brain surgery.

In July of that year, she was moved to the Douglas County Hospital where she remained until the time of her death.

Survivors include her husband, Gale, of Omaha, Nebraska; her son, David, of Manning; her parents, Joe and Edna Sonksen, of Manning; aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

Mrs. Rundell was preceded in death by her grandparents and her parents-in-law, Charles and Ethel Rundell.
