Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Sievers, 81, Who Died at Manning

Funeral Services for Mrs. Henry Sievers, 81, were held at the Ohde Funeral home in Manning Saturday with the Rev. Arthur Raeside of the Presbyterian Church in charge. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery. Pallbearers were Rudolph Tank, Henry Hermann, Henry Brandhorst, Henry Wilfong, Peter Ploen, and William Nulle.

Mrs. Sievers, born Augusta Johanna Claussen at Dorpling-Holstein, Germany, January 9, 1865, passing away at Manning, Iowa, March 13, 1946, following a few months' Illness.

She came to the United States in 1893 with her parents, John and Madinlenea (Sievers) Claussen, and settled at Clinton, Iowa. She came to Carroll County in 1904 with R. Studemann. She married Henry Sievers at Manning, January 20, 1915.

After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Sievers lived on a farm south of Manning and moved to Manning a few years later. In 1934, they moved to Arcadia and just a few weeks before Mrs. Sievers' death, they had returned to Manning to again make their home here.

She is survived by her husband, one sister, Mrs. Rudolph Studeman, Los Angeles, California, and one brother, August Claussen of Manning. Her parents and two brothers preceded her in death, Peter Claussen of South Dakota and John Claussen of Harlan.

Those attending the services from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Claussen of Holdrege, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Dick Studeman and son, Ralph, Mr. and Mrs. William Ziebarth of Flandreau, South Dakota; Mrs. Frieda Struve and son, Gerald, of Harlan, Iowa; Mrs. Emma Claussen, Mrs. Anna Claussen, Mr. and Mrs. John Claussen and son, Dean, all of Harlan, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Max Struve and children, Audubon, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Sievers, Coon Rapids, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hermann, Rudolph, Amanda, and Anna Tank, Mr. and Mrs. John Rix, Mrs. Harry Stoffers, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peters, all of Arcadia, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Frees, Mrs. Elise Bornhoft, Mr. and Mrs. George Jons, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bornhoft, all of Westside.
