August Ernest "Dick" Passick, 81, of Manning died Saturday morning, May 26, 1973, at the Manning Plaza nursing home, where he had resided for the past two years.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Ohde Funeral Home here, with burial in the Manning Cemetery. The Rev. Don Griffin, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiated. Pallbearers were Joe Knueven, Harold Hodne, Lloyd Petersen, Herbert Passick, Gilmore Passick, and Eugene Schumann.
Mr. Passick, son of Otto and Sophia (Schmahl) Passick, was born July 31, 1891, at Clinton and came to this area as a young child. After the death of his parents he made his home with a sister, Mrs. Henry Arp, for 49 years.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Minnie Hagedorn of Manning; 20 nieces and nephews; and 45 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding him in death were three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Schumann, Mrs. John (Anna) Petersen, and Mrs. Arp (Catherine); and three brothers, Detlef, Henry, and Fred Passick.
