Burns Fatal to Audrey Stuhr

Audrey Bernice Stuhr, 21, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Stuhr of Lake City, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Stuhr of Manning, died Monday morning at the McVey hospital at Lake City, of burns received Saturday.

The accident is thought to have happened when Miss Stuhr put kerosene in a stove to light a fire which caused an explosion. Her parents noticed her as she came running from the house and, ran to her assistance. She was badly burned about the neck, chest and back.

Audrey was born in Manning on July 2, 1914 and began her schooling here. When she was ten years of age she moved with her parents to Carroll where the family lived until 1931. Miss Stuhr graduated from high school there.
They moved to a farm near Lanesboro where they have resided since.
She planned to be married this fall to Lewis Dowling of Lohrville.

Miss Stuhr is survived by her parents and a brother Harley, besides many other relatives.

Services were held at Lanesboro Wednesday afternoon and later at the Ohde Funeral Home here. Interment was in the Manning Cemetery.


Audrey Stuhr is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
