Arthur Vanderbilt Arthur J. Vanderbilt, 92, died March 11, 1980, at the Mechanicsville Care Center. Funeral services were held in the Horner Funeral Home, Mechanicsville March 14 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dick Herberts officiating. Interment was in the Rosehill Cemetery in Mechanicsville, Iowa.

The pallbearers were Glen Kern, Lester Nicoll, James Crock, Francis Crock, Don Robinson, and Gary Robinson.

Arthur Vanderbilt was born December 28, 1887, in Manning, Iowa, the son of John and Ruth Ann (Scott) Vanderbilt and one of eleven children. He was married to Laura Pearl Krumroy on January 29, 1908, in Anamosa, Iowa. She preceded him in death on his 84th birthday in 1971. He is survived by his adopted son, Burdell Humbert of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and also some nieces and nephews.
