Arlene Voege
In 1940, the family moved to a farm north of Aspinwall where Arlene continued to live with her parents and helped her brother Harold with the farming operation. After the death of her parents, she remained in their home on the farm. Her brother and his family also lived on the same farm place and Arlene was very close to her niece Jean.
In 1996, shortly after Harold's death, she moved from the farm into the McLaughlin Apartments in Manning. Arlene enjoyed going to the dinners at the Senior Center and visiting with friends at the Corner Café. She also attended monthly meetings of the Westside and Vail Senior Citizens. Arlene enjoyed going for drives in the country, especially around the 'old' neighborhoods north of Westside and Aspinwall.
Arlene was a member of the United Church in Westside and the Westside Cemetery Ladies Auxiliary.
Due to failing health, Arlene became a resident of the Manning Plaza Nursing home in Manning on November 1, 2001. She died there on Monday, November 11, 2002, at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 7 days.
Preceding Arlene in death are her parents and brother Harold Voege.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Phyllis Voege of Manning; niece Jean Voege of Springfield, Oregon; and many cousins and friends.
