Death of Mrs. Ohrt.
Mrs. Antje Ohrt died at her home in this city last Friday morning at the age of 67 years.
Her death was very sudden, due to heart failure.
Mrs. Ohrt was born in Germany in 1835 and when she came to this country first settled in Clinton County. In 1881 she came to Carroll County and resided on a farm. A year after she came to this county her husband died. She and her children resided on the farm until 1893, when they moved to Manning. The deceased was a good, kind hearted Christian woman, a loving mother, and was well liked by all who knew her. Nine children are left to mourn her. They are Mrs. Herman Moore, of Wilmont, Minnesota and Mrs. Winnie Stribe, Minnie, Peter, Charles, Hans, Herman, Hanas and William Ohrt, who all reside in this vicinity.
The funeral, conducted by Rev. Krog of Manilla, occurred Sunday afternoon, the remains being interred in the Manning Cemetery. A large concourse of friends followed the body to its last resting place, The grief stricken children who are thus bereft of a fond and loving mother, have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement.
