Mrs. John Jay Ward died at the family residence, 1420 Lincoln Avenue, at 3:10 o'clock Saturday afternoon after a lingering illness.

The body will be transferred from the Behr Funeral Home to the family residence where it may be viewed after 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon., from where the funeral will be held Tuesday morning to the Holy Trinity Church at 9:30 o'clock. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary.

The deceased was born December 17, 1888, at St. Catherine, the daughter of the late Nick and Elizabeth (Gerst) Schilling and lived at St. Catherine's until November 15, 1917.

She was a member of the Holy Trinity Church and the Rosary Society.

She was married at St. Columbkille's Church to John Ward, who survives her together with four children, two daughters, Mildred and Nancy, both at home, and two sons, Ronald and John; both at home; five sisters, Mrs. Fred Schuster of Bernard, Mrs. Nick Kass of Asbury, Mrs. Herman Jaeger of Dubuque, Mrs. Mike Vernimont of Asbury, and Mrs. Al Conzett of Dubuque; five brothers, Matthew of Sinsinawa, Nick of East Dubuque, Joe of Lamotte, John of Manning, Iowa, and Fred of Asbury. She was preceded in death a daughter in 1927 and a sister.
