Anna Valentine
Funeral rites for Anna Lucille Valentine were held October 10, 1972, with Dr. Childton C. McPheeters, Central UMC, Phoenix, Arizona, and Rev. John Shea Enright S.J., Brophy College Preparatory for Boys, Phoenix officiating at the graveside services in Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, Phoenix, Arizona. Mrs. Valentine died October 8, 1972, at 4:15 pm at St Luke's Hospital in Phoenix after a long illness.

Anna Lucille, daughter of Oliver Morton Patrick and Sarah Jane (Rainey) Patrick of Mapleton, Iowa, was born June 26, 1908. On October 22, 1927, she married Freeland B. Valentine. They moved to Manning in the spring of 1932. They operated Valentine's Bakery, first at the site of McMahon's Feeds until 1934, then they moved to a building at 304 Main Street where they remained until the spring of 1970. At that time they retired and moved to 800 E Highland #28 Phoenix, Arizona.

She is survived by one daughter, Patty J. Johnston, Phoenix, Arizona; one son, Major Roland M. Valentine, USAF, Germany; 7 grandsons; 2 brothers, Don and Joe Patrick, Mapleton, Iowa; one sister, Olive Smith of Denver, Colorado.
