Miss Anna Schlichte, highly respected and well-known resident of Templeton, passed away at her home 6:45 A.M., December 24th 1938, after an illness of several months.
Miss Schlichte was the daughter of the late John and Angela (Wegman) Schlichte, prominent Carroll County pioneers and residents of Templeton for many years. She was born on the old home Schlichte place, 5 miles northwest of Templeton, on August 5, 1876. When her parents retired from the farm, Miss Schlichte accompanied them to Templeton and has made her home with them ever since. Her mother passed away April 15th, 1925, and her father ten years later, on June 19, 1935. Miss Schlichte attained the age of 62 years, 4 months, and 19 days. She is survived by six sisters and two brothers: Frances, Mrs. H.J. Heider of Carroll; Clara, Mrs. Frank Fangman of Templeton; Rose, Mrs. Frank Ferneding of Templeton; Mary Mrs. Henry Fangman of Redwood Falls, Minnesota; Cecelia, Mrs. Alois Burlage of Dyersville, Iowa; Florence, Mrs. Theodore Testroet of Gray; Joe Schlichte of Wessington, South Dakota; and Ed Schlichte of Templeton.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning, December 27th at 9:30 at the Sacred Heart Church in Templeton, The Rt. Rev. Msgr. F.H. Huesman celebrating Requiem High Mass, and burial was made in the Parish Cemetery.
Miss Schlichte was a devout member of the Sacred Heart Church and the St. Rose Young Ladies Sodality.
