A Sad Death.
Mrs. Henry Rohr passed away at her home in this city, on Thursday evening, after only a few hours suffering. Since Manning has been a town Mrs. Rohr has been a resident in it and she has a large circle of friends and acquaintances who today mourn her loss.

Mrs. Anna (Kelting) Rohr was born in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany, thirty-eight years ago (1856). Later on, she, with her parents, landed on American soil, and finally settling down in Iowa. In the year 1882 she was married to Henry Rohr, at Irwin, since which time she has lived in Manning. By this union seven children were born unto them, only two of whom survive her.

Death is as old as the universe and about its quiet victim there is always sadness. But when a kind, loving mother lies in her coffin and the tears of her young children fall upon her marbled features, there is no scene in the whole world more sad. The husband had just completed an elegant little cottage in which for himself and family to live, and to know that now, just when they had begun to enjoy life in their new home, the wife and mother should be so suddenly called away from the circle, is sad to think about. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the family residence, Rev. William Martens officiating, and the remains were interred in the Manning cemetery.

To my many friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted me during the illness and death of my beloved wife, I desire, through the Monitor to extend to them my most sincere thanks.
HENRY Rohr.

Anna Rohr is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
