Funeral services for Amanda Sievers, 73, long-time Manning resident, will be held at the Ohde Funeral Home Thursday, February 11, at 2 p.m., with Dr. F.E. Hamlin, Denison, officiating. Dr. Charles Hummer will be soloist, Bonita (Mrs. Henry W.) Hagedorn the organist. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.
Miss Sievers died at the University Hospitals in Iowa City Sunday, February 7, 1960, at 11:40 p.m. She had been ill for more than two years.
Daughter of Henry and Anna (Ruge) Sievers, she was born February 6, 1887, at Garwin, Iowa, and came to this area at the age of one. She worked as a practical nurse for 40 years. A member of the Presbyterian Church, she was active in church work until her illness, and served as president of the United Presbyterian Women for four years.
She is survived by a brother, Herman Sievers, Coon Rapids; and a sister, Mrs. Frieda Pulver, Harlan. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Tress Sievers and Mrs. Charles (Rose) Stribe.
